DASTA's logo:
DASTA's logo is intentionally designed to look like the english work "own" to showcase the sense of belonging, of participation, and of being a part of something. There are gradient shades of greens in the logo's letters. The green colours signify the perfect "balance" between two main factors: "unity" and "sustainability". It depics our goals of supporting and driving for the sustainable development and participation of all stakeholders.
DASTA's background:
DASTA is established in accordance to the Royal Decree of 2003 to comply with the government’s policy on developing tourism to increase income among local communities; through the integrating administration and management of designated areas for tourism. DASTA is established as the center organization responsible for developing policy and strategy plan, and coordinating between authorities, local communities and tourism destinations. It is also responsible for promoting and developing areas with potentials in tourism by coordinating relevant stakeholders create quality tourism administration management, including mobilizing personnel, budget and tools, and solving problems promptly to achieve its goals.
DASTA's roles and responsibilities:
1. To coordinate between government bodies, local authorities, and other government organizations responsible for tourism administration management, whether it be
at national, regional, or communal level
2.To coordinate between government bodies, local authorities, and other government organizations responsible for social economy, communities, city planning, environment, tourism and security in order to integrate sustainable tourism administration management
3.To promote and support the development and preservation of environment for sustainable tourism
4.To promote the integrated potentials of various organizations, from both government and private sectors, for the development of tourism markets
5.To promote the development of community-based tourism and tourism destinations in local areas through the participation of all relevant stakeholders
6.To promote and support local authorities and communities in maintaining and preserving local art, customs, traditions, wisdom and culture
7.To promote information and researches to be conducted on tourism and the development of knowledge management mechanism at both national and international level. As well as, to develop tourism models and knowledge centers on tourism development
8.To promote the development of potential areas for tourism, in order to increase local employment, as well as to improve quality of life and well-being of local communities
9.To work within tourism development destinations or tourism attractions as assigned by the National Tourism Policy Committee.
DASTA's strategy:
DASTA strategic frameworks operate in accordant with the Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria (GSTC) of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
